Spring Break combined with Literacy

It's Spring Break and the children are having a wonderful time. To add to this, the weather  has been glorious. Everyone is out enjoying the sunshine and warmth. This has been an unusual winter. My principal remarked a few days ago that she hopes it doesn't snow in May. Pat on CTV news has also said that he hopes there isn't anything around the corner.

Amidst the basking in this weather,we should ask our selves if this is ok? Will  we be paying for this later on? Is our environment in a mess? Are the years of abuse of earth  going to cause a backlash ?. I see on the news the mud slide in certain parts of Toronto. In the United States there has been several tornadoes. Not to mention other natural disasters around the world.

We should educate ourselves as well as the children about doing our part in taking care of the earth we live in. Never feel as if you cannot make a difference. Literacy is the key. Our planet is at stake. We can love the warm weather but something is wrong. This is not nature at its best and one way or another we are going to pay for it.

Do your part for nature. Educate yourself about conserving or going green. As you enjoy the rest of your Spring Break remember life is a cycle,we must care for earth for it to sustain us. A part of that is having the seasons naturally through a normal cycle.

What are your thoughts ?.
